We’ve had some fun with our name and logo. Here are a few of our favorite experiences related to our name, from the past few of years:
On our first official day of business, Howard Dean (Former Governor of Vermont and a Democrat) mentioned our mascot from the podium during opening ceremony remarks at the Vermont Business & Industry Expo. It seems he suspected his Republican opponent of stacking the audience against him.
We have a delivery van with our Purple Elephant Promotions logo all around it. We’ve had many other interesting experiences with the van:
One night a driver pulled our van into a self serve gas station and the attendant came running out to ask if we had anything with our logo on it that we would give his little girl. It seems the little girl kept seeing our "fleet of trucks" around town and liked our elephant better than Barney.
Then there was the resort owner who upon seeing our van leaving a golf course he was playing...ran out into the road from the 9th tee to stop us and say, "Hey, I’m playing with one of your balls." (we had donated imprinted golf balls to a golf outing.) We’re pleased to include the resort as a client.
The day we quit questioning "What’s in a name?" was the day our driver pulled up to the drive thru window at our local McDonald’s and the cashier leaned out, greeted him and proceeded to say she had seen our van at 2:00 p.m., two days previous, coming out of a particular driveway in another local town. Believe me, since that day we all drive the van just a little more carefully.
